The End of Poverty?

Film info: In a world where we have so much wealth, how come that we still have poverty and that millions of people across the globe live on less than $1 a day? The reasons are multiple: the legacy of colonization, the exploitation of “third world” resources and minerals by richer countries and the demand of huge debt repayment by the World Bank and International Monetary Fund. Built on striking contrasting images from the developed world and shanties and shacks from poor countries, this documentary aims to shock us into reacting and formulating our own thoughts on how to end poverty.
Time: 106mins
Release: 2008 London Premiere
Director: Phillip Diaz
