This insightful documentary traces his beginnings in rural northern Tanganyika, to his student years at Edinburgh University that led to his political career. Nyerere’s legacy as a wise politician and profound thinker is captured through historical footage and testimonies from a wide range of publishers, journalists, academics and politicians.
