Bio: Jean Michel Gibert, Managing Director of Maturity Music and Caribbean Music Group, based in Trinidad for the past 15 years. Jean Michel Gibert first acted as local producer of Pan Man, a documentary produced for Canal Plus France in 1996 and for a few international videos (Follow The Leader , Soca Dance, Nookie) for French major labels.
In 2004, he co-produced the 90mn documentary Calypso @ Dirty Jim’s which was awarded at many international festivals (calypso-at-dirty-jims.com) and was broadcasted on France Television, BETJ and many European TV networks.
His last production is “Soca Power”, a 60mn in HD sound 5.1, a highly qualitative attempt to showcase Soca to the World directed by the renowned Claude Santiago, which is to be released worldwide on TV networks and theatres and was produced in collaboration with Trace TV, Canal Plus, FRO and the European Community (this movie being part of a 6 documentary series on Caribbean Music, for which Maturity Music is also co-producer).
The next project is an international portrait of Calypso Rose entitled “Calypso Rose, the Calypso Diva) also in HD from Tobago, Queens, Paris up to Africa. .
